Matt's Place, Inc A Massachusetts man is trying to make it into the Guinness Book of World Records as he makes a trek from Boston to California in his motorized wheelchair. Matt Eddy is a quadriplegic and the goal of his trip is to raise money and awareness of the need for housing for folks with severe disabilities.


Ken Kunken continues to inspire and motivate people throughout the country. In his talks, Ken shares his life story and the lessons that he has learned since he was injured during a college football game at Cornell University in 1970. The injury severed Ken's spinal cord, leaving him a quadriplegic, almost totally paralyzed from the shoulders down.

Geoff Holt  is an English sailor from Portsmouth, now based in Southampton, Hampshire.  Jamie Dunross  is a gifted sailor who wants to show the world and himself that truly anything is possible. Jamie became a C5 quadriplegic in a gold pouring accident at Meekatharra in 1988. He now wants to become the first quadriplegic yachtsman to sail around the world single-handed and unassisted. His story of recovery from near suicidal depression to the peak of his sport, a gold medal at the 2000 Paralympic Games, is an impressive one that offers genuine inspiration. 


KENT NEWS: A quadriplegic woman who sailed around the UK using just the power of her breath to control her yacht is set to take on another adventure.

Hilary Lister is to tackle the waters of the Middle East and sail solo around the Kingdom of Bahrain. It will raise awareness and funds for the disabled charity Bahrain Mobility International, known as BMI.

The 37-year-old Oxford graduate from Faversham is paralysed from the neck down. She started using a wheelchair at 15 because of a progressive neurological disorder called reflex sympathetic dystrophy. Read the full story

The Fishing Doc - Enabling the Disabled Angler to Enjoy Fishing

For those of you who are not aware of the history behind the conception of “The Fishing Doc” pole, Doc was paralyzed just under 5 years ago and had recently passed away. He loved to fish so the company that employed his wife Cindy invested a ton of money to develop and patent a fishing rod for the paralyzed. Doc’s love of the outdoors and determination to not allow his physical limitations keep him from doing what he loves, influenced a group at Orscheln to provide a product that allows those with limited physical abilities to enjoy fishing. My artwork rivals the art of artist that use their hands to create art. I work mostly with nature art, country scenes, and animals of all kinds. Ash Artwork - Afshin was born on August 29th 1969 in Tehran Iran. Eldest of four brothers. Schooled in Tehran, followed by university where he gained an honors degree in agriculture. Afshin had always had an interest in art since he was a child and his first attempt at an exhibition was very successful and lead Afshin taking up art full time. His second Exhibition was criticized as being too erotic, displaying material of an explicit nature. At this time in Iran this type of art was banned. Afshin arrived in England in 1997 seeking political asylum following an accident in Iran which left Afshin as a Tetraplegic (resulting in him being paralyzed from below the chest down)
